Sophie Wheeless is a Theatrical Director and Producer based in Chicago, Illinois. As a queer feminist, the thrust of their artistic output is grounded in embracing radical transgression and the abjectly comedic. They are guided creatively by the works of Julia Kristeva, Kazuo Ôno, John Waters, and Antonin Artaud.

Some recent directing credits include March! (The Second City), The 19th Annual Punxsutawney Phil Memorial Beauty Pageant to Save the Children (The Second City), Freisinger-Hill Mandatory Duo Show (Rhinofest), Abeona (Chicago Dramatists), The Nether (Columbia College Chicago), and an original adaptation of No Exit (Columbia College Chicago).

Along with their directorial work, they are a frequent producer with Chicago Dramatists on their development series. Additionally, they are a co-founder and the Artistic Director for Slug Face Productions; A production group devoted to the comedic, absurd, and totally obscene.

Outside of Theatre, Sophie enjoys illustration, New Wave, and exploiting the darkness inside of themself for attention.
